It's a nice song, isn't it? Am listening to it now as I'm blogging. Well, I just came back from BBG - it's been perhaps a year since I last attended it with Sue, but it seems like eons ago. Still, I have to mention, the sermon today really moved me - and it reminded me of why I chose to stay in church for the past decade, why I'm still willing to sow into the Building Fund year after year, and why I yearn to feel God's heartbeat close to mine. Love is always sacrificial, isn't it. And love is both visible and tangible too, yeah?
Anyway, I'm just about to finish the book "The Tipping Point" by Malcolm Gladwell - and he talks about behavior - and what we normally term character, being consistent much to the extent that we are in control of our environment - and that's the power of context. While I read the book with a pinch of salt, I can't help but comment it is an interesting read. First spotted the book while I was in transit at the KL airport for 5 hours coming back from Amsterdam. And halfway through the book, I went back to the same bookshop to purchase the 2nd book "Blink" by the same author. Have been on a book craze since, as I bought at least a dozen books to keep me occupied for perhaps the next few months. Another author that I highly recommend - is the Undercover Economist by Tim Harford, and his second book "The Logic of Life" that just came out. And have also bought Microtrends, A Dream from My Father by Obama, and Winning by Jack Welch. Also, I got Economics for Dummies, Speeches that changed the world and a couple more. Haha...wonder when I'll ever finish reading all of them! Think I should heed Gab's advice in future and purchase a book one at a time. Also, he's been persuading me to read this book called "His needs, Her needs"; and yet has refused to lend it to me and insisted that I get one for myself. Haha, well guess i should give it a shot and put the other books on hold for now.
And reflecting, I've realized that more than half of these books are related to econs, and I'm surprised myself - coz I've hated econs since year 1 of university. Guess maybe it's corn's influence - and somehow though it's only been a short time that we'd been good friends, surprisingly he's had a heavy influence on my life - like how I've learnt to love apple products, an acquired liking for furniture shopping, listening to old love songs, and yes, taking an interest in econs too. Laughs.
Oh well, guess I should hit the bed to get some rest. Goodnights!
Moon River, wider than a mile, I'm crossing you in style some day. Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker, wherever you're going I'm going your way. Two drifters off to see the world. There's such a lot of world to see. We're after the same rainbow's end-- waiting 'round the bend, my huckleberry friend, Moon River and me.

Absolutely Gorgeous!
Haha, I stole this picture from Gab's FB...and yes I've finally got down to looking at pics...and this photo was just so pretty that I couldn't take my eyes off it! It's the Bahamas off Florida, and it's simply heart-melting! It's probably the best beach that I've ever seen, and I wonder if I'll ever get the chance to go there!
Anyway, I absolutely loved this week! Met up with ML and Gab for House Bunny on wed, and boy was it a bimbotic show; but nevertheless funny! And..it was really great having Gab back too, and catching up on the past few summer months that he's been away!
Thu and Fri were also break days for me, as I chilled at orientation with the newbies on the job! Met like a dozen more people, as I struggled to catch up with the name game. But was really glad to meet someone else who was hired to the same dept as me - Cheryl; so at least lunch was not a solo event with our dept reps.
Sat was good too, as I brought my mum out last min, and we deliberated for a while before I decided to get a 40" Full HD LCD Samsung TV for her! It costed quite a bit, but I am glad to have made her happy; and she's so excited planning where to mount the tele when it gets here on wed! Anyway, Daniel if u're reading this - i'm really sorry to have cancelled the movie on sat - it was a last min thing - and my sincere apologies!
And for today, I happened to bump into Liyun, and it was great catching up with her! We had a short chat before service started, and she said something which really surprised me; I had never thought that she would say that, but strangely her words kept echo-ing thru my mind the whole day. Haha well, guess I'll give it some thought.
Okies, gonna go pack my room again before I doze off. Goodnights!
