Jeux d'enfants

The Big Ben! It's freezing here in London, but it's so great to be home, bathed and watching English shows on telly! Staying with Vanessa here in London on Garrick Street, which is really near Chinatown and Oxford Street (the best street for shopping!). Vanessa's a darling, and she's really so hardworking as well! She's studying law at UCL, works at a candy store, and also acts in a theatre play! Wow! Sigh, anyway...ahhhh I spent alot today - on shopping! Wished confessing it could bring some form of guilt relief...but seriously, I have to say that London is just so expensive! Bought a top from Topshop, a bag from H&M, and formal pants from Dorothy Perkins! Bought a prom night bag for my dear sister too, from Marks and Spencer! Hope she'll like it though; but just don't tell her yet - it's supposed to be a surprise! Went to Madame Tussauds too, and visited Sherlock Holmes's house on Baker Street! He's been my fave author when I was young! Anyway, it's really a great feeling being back in an English speaking community and being able to communicate with people around! Gonna so miss London when I go back to Paris though.

- Oh, and if you're guessing that I'm missing school again, I'm NOT!! Laughs. It's my first term break this whole week, and we're gonna stay a week in London, before (skipping sch for a week) to go to Edinburgh on Sat, Glasgow after, and finally to Dublin! Oh, btw my spore line's (starting with 966) not really working in some areas, so msg me on my french line (+33683577850) if u need to reach me yeah! And....thanks for all the sms-es too; really appreciate them coz I miss home alot; though most times I try hard not to show it. So thanks!

- Ohhhhhhh! I've written all my postcards on Valentine's Day and posted all of them (all except sam's - hang on k!) So 8 lucky ones will be receiving them soon! wink.

- OhhhhHHhh x3! Laughs. Guess what? I'll finally be able to visit Word of Life church in Stockholm sometime in May! Joseph who previously came to SMU for exchange is back in Uppsala now, and he happened to be from Livet Ords! Elvis just visited him a few weeks back too, and he's probably back in Tel Aviv, Israel now! Gosh, he definately has the most exotic exchange ever yeah! Anyway, so excited to go to Stockholm, coz I haven't been able to attend church in Paris. Wrote to Gab that I've attended a mass once at Notre Dame - but it was really different there, with music from the organ resounding all around the church and its beautiful glass windows. It brought a wave of peace and serenity, as I stood there, listening to the choir sing out the verses from the bible. It was kind of a heavenly feeling...something very different from anything I've experienced before, so guess I can't aptly describe it. It's just simply awesome.

Okkies gotta run now...really hope I can sit down one day and blog all that I am feeling though! And hope that you all are missing me as much as I am missing you! : )

hugs and kisses from sotz!

Je ne pas comprehend!

French is terribly hard...but guess I'm still surviving well with the little French that I know. Have been here in Paris for almost 3 weeks now, and the cold's been fading - which is a really good thing! Have spent the last 3 fabulous weekends at:

Lourve! It's free on Fri nights after 6pm! Seen the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo on my 2 visits there. It's extremely huge there, and with a dazzling collection of the world's famous art pieces. Definately worth a visit for whoever's coming to Paris!

Loire Valley! Drove down to Orleans, Amboise, Blois and Tours over the 2nd weekend with my room-mates and Keli+Jaq! Was pretty fun, as we went to see the most famous chateaus - Chambord and Chenonceaux! They were simply gorgeous! Also went on a wine tasting trip (called degustation here), and a day out shopping at Marnee la Valley outlet! Overall, was a great road trip, except the fact that we got fined for speeding again! Keli happened to be driving then, and he was speeding at 161 km/h over the 130 km/h limit. It really felt like deja vu again, like the time we got fined on the way to New York when Corn was driving. Was telling Meeshell perhaps I'm the jinx, coz something always happens whenever I'm navigating and not driving. Laughs. Perhaps yeah..shrugs.

Versailles! A day trip out of Paris to see the grand palace at Versailles, build by Louis XIV. The visit really neat though, coz we got reduced admission + bonus entrance to Marie Antoinette's estate, for the workers on strike that day; except that it was awfully cold that day!

Disneyland! Spent our 3rd weekend at Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios! Walt Disney Studios was rather much like Universal Studios in LA, with similar shows + rides; but still I love all of them! I too got some pretty cool souvenirs! Got a treasure box from the Pirates of the Carribeans shop, a Disney Music Scorebook, and a terribly expensive figurine from Main Street! Meeshell and I got season passes too, so guess we can return back someday again!

Barcelona! Gonna spend Chinese New Year in Spain this weekend, cool! Gonna invite some of the other Singaporeans, Koreans and Americans over for dinner sometime this week too, can't wait!

Okies, gotta catch some sleep now. Ohh sorry for the delay in the postcards! I'll write them tml, on Valentines itself yeah! Have an awesome Valentines!
