Hagios
Just finished reading a book by Max Lucado..learnt the root word for Holy = Hagios (Greek) = to be different, to set apart, to consecrate. So to be holy..is to lead a life set apart for Him..and a life based on His standards. Grinz...sounds so simple...yet so hard. :) Anyway, having shingles the past 1.5wks..i took to reading...apart from watchin telly, playing games, and growing fat! Laughs. Thot of doing something more constructive...oh ya, can u believe, I finished 2 500pieces jigsaw puzzles in less than a wk! Usually I'd take months just to finish 1! Haha..unbelievable! Was never patient enuff at art and craft stuff...or like finger-making stuff...all my sewing and all were all done by my maids since primary 1...and I got As all the way (sHhh...dun let this out!)...laughs!
But on the other hand...my mum put me through all sorts of classes...from chinese calligraphy..to cooking classes..to piano classes...and even flower arrangement! Faints. Haha...my mum really has a knack for having diverse interests...and it's continual....or shd I say...perpetual! Ha! Currently, she's been bugging me to teach her roller-blading..as well as wants to take up social dancing too! Laughs. Also, she's been 'teh-ing' my dad to go diving with her in june (with me n my friends)..and is planning for a sky-diving trip (she's suggested in Indonesia!) Haha...sounds like a cool mum yeah? U bet!...and she's a gorgeous one too! Sounds like I'm writing a testimonial for her yeah? Laughs. But after the many years of living with her..I'm pretty much convinced of her charisma. Tell u an incident which tickled me: Recently, my maid was stopped by a lady in our neighbourhood on her way home...who asked her "Hey...is that your mdm? She's very pretty ya?" My maid gave a very convincing "yah, of course la.."..and the next time round she saw the lady...the lady was sporting the same hairstyle as my mum (straight hair with curls at the bottom)! Laughs. I'm speechless at that. Haha..but i'm just amazed...or rather..intrigued by what my mum's gonna be hooked on next. Maybe extreme sports eh? That'll be cool!...laughs.
oK...so much for my mum. Anyway...am browsing thru the movies section now...n i realise there's so many, many nice movies on screen now! There's so many I wanna watch..Big Fish..Along came Polly..Cold Mountain..ooh..and Monster too..reccommended by Gerald! Went to read the sypnosis...think it sounds interesting! Oh..but getting into the theatre is harder this time...coz it's screened mostly at GV only..which is so strict!..how? Sighz. Anyway...ooOh ya...guess wat? I've just discovered my staff privileges at RP...I can borrow up to 10 books at a time..as well as dvds and games home to watch/play! Cool yeah? Just found out too...that they have an x-box in the library...and we can book 1-hr slots at each time to play! Neat! Haha...my new-found hobby now...laughs! It's an alternative to playing table soccer at lunch time (I'm so addicted to that now). Laughs...so working here isn't so bad after all yeah? Grinz.
ooOOOooooookie! That's all for now...gotta get back to work...i'm bloggin into my working hours...shall maintain my integrity...and be a good..hmmm...worker! Wink! Can't wait for 6pm to come...it's F.R.I.D.A.Y! Laughs. Goin 4 svc later..den dUmbo & kw will be coming over! So excited she's gonna join! Cya ard!

SKirts, skiRts and mOre skirTs!
 | Wow! Haven't blogged in awhile. Anyway, I have been down with shingles last week..some kind of rashes...n it hurts quite a bit. Went to see both Dr.Lim and a chinese doctor. Guess what the chinese doctor did? He lit up a wooden stick...and while the fire's still burning...jabbed it into my flesh! Boy, I was horrified! After 7-8 'times of that I cdn't take it anymore..and I made him stop poking me. I then asked why they had to burn me...and they said in dialect (i don't quite understand)...that they have to kill the snake inside of me or something...and worse still, they wanted me to bathe in rice wine for the next 4 days. Really awful experience! Well..that sums up my first visit to a cHinese doctor. Want to recover soon...so I can stop wearing skirts! Been wearing 'em the whole week round and i hate it! Hmphs. Sighz...been stuck at home too..for the past few days..wanna go out to play oh! Hmm....missed service last week too...kind of miss my cell grp..coz they never fail to cheer me up! Grinz..
Anyway, wondering why I put this poster here? Well..do watch this show if u have the time! I thot it was not bad. It's about a gang of boys who grew up in the slums of Rio de Janiero...who became young drug lords...and how their lives shaped out after that...hmm..an interesting film! Wink! Hmm...know of any other nice films? Do tell me k! I'm awfully bored here...bring me out! Haha..i sound like a kid! Hmm..no..no...it should be...date me out!
