Sigh, it's been a busy, busy, terribly busy week for me! Taking a breather from work to de-stress, and hoping so much the weekend will come again soon! There's so much that I wanna blog...and I wish there was some sort of machine that can capture down people's thoughts into words! laughs, see what a bummer I am ya! haha well, I'm struggling to find the space and time to sit down and write about the fleeting thoughts that run through my head, rather than tell you more details about my boring life! :)
Anyway, more about my boring life - last week I went for my first cell group in a long time - to bro darren's cell - on my own! it was good...and I met quite a few of my old friends there too! and on Friday, a few of us hung out at Dempsey to celebrate gab's b'day! We ate at La Fondue - and had an extremely expensive but yummy 4-course meal with wagyu beef (is it spelt like that?) and cheese/choc fondue! We picked mexican cheese (good choice) and wild mushroom cheese (which turned out bad!), and after we had bailey's mint choc fondue and another pot with orange liquer choc fondue for desserts! Thought the food was not bad; and the restaurant was rather cosy too! After which, we drove to orchard towers to watch kumar, and gab somehow got himself saboed on stage to lap dance! :) and after, we headed to rochor for yummy beancurd and chin chow before heading home!
On Sat, my I hanged out with Jeong Bin, Chor Guan and Sophia...and we went to eat at a neat Korean restaurant at Tanjong Pagar! Don't know why, I'd used to hate Korean food; but now I have an absolute obsession with anything Korean! Maybe it's Ushin's influence! :) Anyway, so JB treated us to Korean, and after Chor Guan treated us desserts at Marmalade Pantry - my fave sticky date toffee!
And Sunday was a family day for me...as usual I went to church with my family and Gab & Ryan, and after, we celebrated my sister's bday at Serangoon Gardens! And following, I went back home to mug work, before heading out for dinner with Sue, Shee and Gorgeous at Rice Table!
Haha okies, think that's enough for now and time to head back to work! Oh sigh, have a good night while I mug!!
Gab starting on the cheese fondue!

Meiling with our first Yu Sheng for the year!

Hello!
Gosh I'm feeling so sleepy at work, so thought I'll blog. :) Had a tiring but fun weekend that just passed! Went to watch red cliff 2 with Eunice, Gab and Ryan, and it was not bad. After the movie, Ryan and Eunice came to stay at my house overnight to play xbox, all the way till 6am, when we went to eat prata near Ryan's house! After breakfast, Eunice and I totally KO-ed till about 2pm, when we played a second round of xbox again! And after Eunice left, I went to eat Tim Sum with my parents, and came back for a third round of xbox with Ryan! Laughs...what addicts we are yeah!
And yesterday was fun too! :) Went to Gab's house for the first time..and his dad cooked really yummy beef steamboat! Never really fancied steamboat before, but I have to say his dad is really a good chef! :) Eunice came along with me too, and we had dinner with Ryan, Sam and Darren as well - Gab's buddies! Also, after dinner, we drove out to chill at an unusual ice cream place at United Square called Udders. Well it's unusual coz they serve alcoholic ice-cream - and it's really nice! I had my usual mint with choco and Bailey's & Bourbon with Eunice, while Gab had Rum & Raisin, which was really strong!
Oh, how I love weekends like that - where it seems so surreal - away from the real world :)

Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough
Now I don't wanna lose you, but I don't wanna use you just to have somebody by my side And I don't wanna hate you I don't wanna take you But I don't wanna be the one to cry That don't really matter to anyone, anymore But like a fool I keep losing my place And I keep seeing you walk through that door
But there's a danger in loving somebody too much And it's sad when you know it's your heart you can't trust There's a reason why people don't stay where they are Baby sometimes love just ain't enough
Now I could never change you and I don't wanna blame you Baby you don't have to take the fault Yes I may have hurt you But I did not desert you Maybe I just wanna have it all It makes a sound like thunder It makes me feel like rain And like a fool who will never see the truth I keep thinking something's gonna change
But there's a danger in loving somebody too much And it's sad when you know it's your heart you can't trust There's a reason why people don't stay where they are Baby sometimes love just ain't enough
And there's no way home when it's late at night and you're all alone Are there things that you wanted to say Do you feel me beside you in your bed there beside you where I used to lay
And there's a danger in loving somebody too much And it's sad when you know it's your heart they can't touch There's a reason why people don't say who they are Baby sometimes love just ain't enough. Baby sometimes love - it just ain't enough

Merry Christmas!
Sorry this came a little late! Christmas was really good this year, unlike the freezing Christmas I had in Shanghai last December! :) I think the most unforgettable was the musical, which I watched with Gab and his buddies. Meeshell and Sue came along too..and we met up for dinner before that at Cartel, but somehow maybe the food didn't do me too good, and I stepped out halfway through the musical to puke - and after - I had to wait in the viewing room (which wasn't all that bad too, as it had a better view than my own seat, lols). And I guess, I got them worried after...and coz I was feeling hungry again, we drove to UE square to eat at Laurent's Chocs, which was really YUMMY!
Also, I had a house party at home last Saturday, and it was loads of fun!
Gosh, it's been a day of food today, as family celebrated my grandfather's b'day at equinox; and after we met at uncle philip's house for dinner/supper with uncle heng who came from muar. really full and bloated!
Anyway, felt so bad today as well, as gab and ryan both woke up so early on a holiday to come help me move some furniture; but as it was raining the entire day, we had to cancel it. still, ryan came to pick me up, and we went to eat breakfast with gab near his house, and went to PS after to play arcade before heading back. i shd treat them to lunch sometime yeah! haha...oh, but guess what? i've found someone (ryan) to play time crisis and photohunt with; while gab was played his street fighter and mahjong : )
Also, it's still 2 weeks to christmas; but i seem to already be in a christmas mood! haha and it doesn't help too that people who call me always comment on the christmas ring tone they hear. sigh, well I can't wait till christmas; and meanwhile do all my christmas shopping! and, actually I haven't had much plans for xmas this yr, but somehow i'm glad that I'm gonna be chilling out with my friends/family! from work, lee seng's gonna have a BBQ at his place, so it's a night out with my new colleagues! for family, my aunts/uncles are all coming back from aust/uk/indo for christmas; so it'll be a good time for a reunion! oh, and gab's friend has also booked tickets for us to go watch the nutcracker musical; and I can't wait to go! Thor Paik Kee's also popping back on xmas eve, so maybe we cd do the countdown together! Also, I'd thought of having a small christmas party at my place sometime - but have no definite plans yet - so we'll see how it goes!
Okies; think I shd get some sleep now. have a good wk!

In Another World that I See
It's amazing what technology can do yeah?
Anyway, been on MC today, as I fell sick over the weekend. It was a good thing too, as I managed to bring my mum to visit her specialist at the hospital. Treated her to Jang Shou at Esplanade after that - which is now my latest fave Korean BBQ hangout! You won't believe how I have switched from hating korean food 6 months ago to adoring it now after eating there! laughs. Guess it's indeed a thin line between love and hate yeah!
Sigh, and it's back to work tomorrow again; and silently hoping for christmas to come soon too. : ) Gonna have dinner with gab and ryan, and drinks with my colleagues on Fri. Gosh, and yeah I really have to start studying for my CFA soon; sOtz, where's your discipline gone to! haha..oh well hope stanley's gonna start mugging soon too, so I can have someone to pressure me to start.
Alrights, gonna head downstairs for dinner. Buenas Noches!

A beautiful song by Steven Curtis Chapman! You can download it here.
Cinderella
She spins and she sways To whatever song plays Without a care in the world And I'm sitting here wearing The weight of the world on my shoulders
It's been a long day And there's still work to do She's pulling at me Saying "Dad, I need you
There's a ball at the castle And I've been invited And I need to practice my dancing Oh, please, Daddy, please?"
So I will dance with Cinderella While she is here in my arms 'Cause I know something the prince never knew Oh, I will dance with Cinderella I don't want to miss even one song 'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight And she'll be gone...
She says he's a nice guy and I'd be impressed She wants to know if I approve of the dress She says, "Dad, the prom is just one week away And I need to practice my dancing Oh, please, Daddy, please?"
So I will dance with Cinderella While she is here in my arms 'Cause I know something the prince never knew Oh, I will dance with Cinderella I don't want to miss even one song 'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight And she'll be gone
She will be gone
Well, she came home today with a ring on her hand Just glowing and telling us all they had planned She says, "Dad, the wedding's still six months away But I need to practice my dancing Oh, please, Daddy, please?"
So I will dance with Cinderella While she is here in my arms 'Cause I know something the prince never knew Oh, I will dance with Cinderella I don't want to miss even one song 'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight And she'll be gone

"Never Gonna Let You Go" by Sergio Mendes
Another one of the oldies which I fell in love with! : )
Well, I had a tiring week, but a great weekend! Watched Quantum of Solace with gab and ryan on friday - and one of the rare times gab managed to keep awake while ryan surprisingly slept! laughs. sat/sun was a sleepover at sentosa with sue, shee and san! booked a room at treasure resort, and it was fun playing citadels, cards, and the luge! had dinner at sakae (sa-ka-eh) while secretly watching parts of Songs of the Sea! And after we had red wine and cheesecake back at the hotel before dozing! Just the ideal day out!
So guess it's back to starting another new week all over again! Only that this week's asia conference, and I can't wait to go!
*And keeping my fingers crossed that i can knock off early this week!*
I was as wrong as I could be to let you get away from me I'll regret that move for as long as I'm living But now that I've come to see the light All I wanna do is make things right So just say the word and tell me that I'm forgiven
You and me We're gonna be better than we were before I loved you then but now I intend To open up and love you even more This time you can be sure
I'm never gonna let you go I'm gonna hold you in my arms forever Gonna try and make up for all the times I hurt you so Gonna hold your body close to mine From this day on we're gonna be together Oh, I swear this time I'm never gonna let you go
Looking back now it seems so clear I had it all when you were here Oh, you gave it all and I took it for granted But if there's some feeling left in you Some flicker of love that still shines through Let's talk it out Let's talk about second chances
Wait and see It's gonna be sweeter than it was before I gave some then but now I intend To dedicate myself to giving more This time you can be sure
Teared as I watched this song on TV. Contrary to what I'd always thought - I thought love was what makes your heart beat faster when you see that special someone; and that which spurs you to think about the person all day long - but guess maybe I was wrong.
As I took a test at work some time back, it asked what state of emotion love puts you in - and of the choices I had, I selected excitement. And surprisingly, the right answer was that love itself is a state of calmness - that it's whom u feel most at ease with and what makes you feel most at peace. Hmmm it's so simple yeah, yet so intricate. And maybe that's why it's so easy to lose your way as well.
Well, somehow, I hope I can find my way back. : )

At Amy's anniversary party on Halloween with my work buddy Rachel!
With Amy as Wednesday from Addam's Family!
Hola!
Just came back from dinner with Jeong Bin, Chor Guan and Cheryl, who's flying off tml to Philippines on project! Ate at Minori, and glad they loved the buffet there! Haha...but think it's totally destroyed my diet though! oops.
Anyway, been having a good week through and through! Won a pair of movie tics to 20th century boys last week, so watched it with gab on sat before we chilled at Harry's bar to watch soccer and play citadels with darling Meeshell, gab's good friend Ryan and Stanley. After which I watched another movie on sun - High School Musical (absolutely loved it), and had a Deepavali party at Vivienne's place in the evening. Monday was a family day out at JB where we visited Uncle George and shopped at Jusco. Following, I had a kind week, before Friday came, where I attended a women's networking session at UBS, and after, headed down to Amy's 10th year wedding anniversary, in which she threw a private party at Mimolette! And seriously, I thought Mimolette was one of the hottest places to hang out on a Halloween, as people there were all dressed up to the nines as very interesting characters indeed! : )
And ohh, I forgot to mention, BBG this week was totally awesome. Attended with sue, gab and ryan, and thought that both the offering message and main sermon were solid! Am looking so much forward to service this week as the A&B weekend is here. Gonna meet liyun for lunch tml too, before heading down to Sufeng's wedding!
Gosh, I lost count of time - think I'd better pop into bed, before I turn up as a zombie for choir tml.
Have a fabulous weekend!

Heyo!
Listen to this as u read:
It's a nice song, isn't it? Am listening to it now as I'm blogging. Well, I just came back from BBG - it's been perhaps a year since I last attended it with Sue, but it seems like eons ago. Still, I have to mention, the sermon today really moved me - and it reminded me of why I chose to stay in church for the past decade, why I'm still willing to sow into the Building Fund year after year, and why I yearn to feel God's heartbeat close to mine. Love is always sacrificial, isn't it. And love is both visible and tangible too, yeah?
Anyway, I'm just about to finish the book "The Tipping Point" by Malcolm Gladwell - and he talks about behavior - and what we normally term character, being consistent much to the extent that we are in control of our environment - and that's the power of context. While I read the book with a pinch of salt, I can't help but comment it is an interesting read. First spotted the book while I was in transit at the KL airport for 5 hours coming back from Amsterdam. And halfway through the book, I went back to the same bookshop to purchase the 2nd book "Blink" by the same author. Have been on a book craze since, as I bought at least a dozen books to keep me occupied for perhaps the next few months. Another author that I highly recommend - is the Undercover Economist by Tim Harford, and his second book "The Logic of Life" that just came out. And have also bought Microtrends, A Dream from My Father by Obama, and Winning by Jack Welch. Also, I got Economics for Dummies, Speeches that changed the world and a couple more. Haha...wonder when I'll ever finish reading all of them! Think I should heed Gab's advice in future and purchase a book one at a time. Also, he's been persuading me to read this book called "His needs, Her needs"; and yet has refused to lend it to me and insisted that I get one for myself. Haha, well guess i should give it a shot and put the other books on hold for now.
And reflecting, I've realized that more than half of these books are related to econs, and I'm surprised myself - coz I've hated econs since year 1 of university. Guess maybe it's corn's influence - and somehow though it's only been a short time that we'd been good friends, surprisingly he's had a heavy influence on my life - like how I've learnt to love apple products, an acquired liking for furniture shopping, listening to old love songs, and yes, taking an interest in econs too. Laughs.
Oh well, guess I should hit the bed to get some rest. Goodnights!
Moon River, wider than a mile, I'm crossing you in style some day. Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker, wherever you're going I'm going your way. Two drifters off to see the world. There's such a lot of world to see. We're after the same rainbow's end-- waiting 'round the bend, my huckleberry friend, Moon River and me.

Absolutely Gorgeous!
Haha, I stole this picture from Gab's FB...and yes I've finally got down to looking at pics...and this photo was just so pretty that I couldn't take my eyes off it! It's the Bahamas off Florida, and it's simply heart-melting! It's probably the best beach that I've ever seen, and I wonder if I'll ever get the chance to go there!
Anyway, I absolutely loved this week! Met up with ML and Gab for House Bunny on wed, and boy was it a bimbotic show; but nevertheless funny! And..it was really great having Gab back too, and catching up on the past few summer months that he's been away!
Thu and Fri were also break days for me, as I chilled at orientation with the newbies on the job! Met like a dozen more people, as I struggled to catch up with the name game. But was really glad to meet someone else who was hired to the same dept as me - Cheryl; so at least lunch was not a solo event with our dept reps.
Sat was good too, as I brought my mum out last min, and we deliberated for a while before I decided to get a 40" Full HD LCD Samsung TV for her! It costed quite a bit, but I am glad to have made her happy; and she's so excited planning where to mount the tele when it gets here on wed! Anyway, Daniel if u're reading this - i'm really sorry to have cancelled the movie on sat - it was a last min thing - and my sincere apologies!
And for today, I happened to bump into Liyun, and it was great catching up with her! We had a short chat before service started, and she said something which really surprised me; I had never thought that she would say that, but strangely her words kept echo-ing thru my mind the whole day. Haha well, guess I'll give it some thought.
Okies, gonna go pack my room again before I doze off. Goodnights!
Had a busy week unpacking and settling down, starting my new job, packing my files/papers/clothes/room, and meeting up with friends! Had lunch this week with the newbies on the job on the first day, and thereafter with my work buddy for the next 2 days. Met up with Ushin today (gosh, I haven't met her up in a year!), and meeting Stanley tml for lunch too! Oh, I miss being back somehow, and am also getting used to jet lags. Also, I finally found the time today to download my South American photos, so I thought I'll post some here. The rest are all on Facebook, so check them out! : )
The famous Machu Picchu!
The gorgeous Iguazu Falls!
Tried out the Berliners' fave drinks - beer with syrup!

Heys! Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. Thanks for all the birthday smses you all sent - I know I didn't manage to reply to all, but I do appreciate you for remembering me! : )
Anyway, it's my 2nd day of work at Accenture today. Pace's a little slow as I'm still on the bench and reading as much as I can - still a little jetlagged, as I came back the night before I started work and haven't had the time to rest. But my trip had been great! South America (especially Machu Picchu and Iguazu Falls) was really pretty, and the people we met there were simply awesome. And the highlight of my trip was actually my trip to Berlin - I think it's one of the most captivating cities in Europe - and I absolutely loved it! Have been thinking if I should pursue my masters, but I haven't been able to find a place I really wanted to do it at - until I reached Berlin and totally fell in love with that place! :) It's a place rich in history and heritage, with a colourful and diversified culture. A really interesting mix, I would say. Will post up some pictures of my trip when I get back to my macbook at home. Now it's also back to Windows for me as I start work here, and keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be posted to an interesting project!
Write again soon, and hopefully we can all catch up sometime! :)
